I am 49 years old and went almost a year without a period. Period came very heavy and worst cramps I ever had. Went to my Obgyn and had vaginal ultrasound. Was found to have a large Uterine fibroid that grew in the almost year absence of my period. MY bloodwork shows I am not in menapause as we thought, Had a biopsy and waiting to hear from that. Dr doesnt think it is cancer but had to rule it out. Before that I had fibroids but had a oeriod every 28 days like clockwork.
