Pregnant. Coughing Up Blood In Phlegm Only In The Mornings. No Help From Inhalers. What Could It Be?

I have been coughing up small amount of blood in my phlegm, only in the mornings and very small amount. I recently quit smoking (1 month ago) when I found out I was pregnant (currently 9 weeks). I went to doctor who listened to my breathing and said I had a viral infection. I was prescribed albuterol with an inhaler but it's been almost two weeks and it's still happening. I smoked 1/2 a pack a day for the last 4 years.
