Pregnant. Have Tastelessness, Vomiting, Thirst, Had Gestational Diabetes. Related?

Hello Dr. i am 10 weeks pregnant and after everymeal after few minutes i dont feel any taste in my mouth and just feel thirsty.I feel like vomiting the whole day and usually i have 1 or 2 vomits everyday.This is my second baby.i had a gestational diabetes last time so i am just wondering is it something to do with sugar.

Hi Bijal.

Thank you for the query. The vomiting feeling is natural in first 3 months of the pregnancy. But if you are also thirsty and urinating a lot then you should never wait till 24th week to check your sugars. In fact as per recent recommendations, you should be checking your sugars by oral glucose tolerance test and HbA1c test as soon as you get to know that you are pregnant. So go ahead and do the test.
Secondly if the sugars are high then vomiting sensation can also be part of its manifestation and not only that of the first days of pregnancy. So do not wait and get it checked. All the best.
