Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
I understand that you must be worried and anxious about this discrepancy in the
ultrasound report. Now, a difference of 2 weeks between the LMP and the scan
gestational age is considered normal.
In the first trimester, a significant difference in age could indicate two things:
1) If your periods were irregular, then the calculation of your gestational age based on your last menstrual cycle is often not accurate.
2) Sometimes, a large difference between the expected size of your baby and what the scan reveals could indicate a missed
miscarriage or a
blighted ovum .
Like your doctor has suggested, the next course of action would be a repeat scan after two weeks. Duphaston (
Dydrogesterone) is a steroidal progestin, which is sometimes prescribed in pregnant women, to prevent early miscarriages. So, don't worry too much, you can take the medication and wait for the repeat scan.
Wish you all the best.

Dr. Jonas Sundarakumar
