Pregnant. What Are The Side Effects Of Doxinate? Does It Have Any Side Effects On Fetus?
what are the side effects of doxinate. Usually vomit control medicines used during pregnancy have side effects such as constipation , drowsiness etc. i want to know that including the above mentioned side effects are there any other side effects related to fetus? According to FDA what is the classification of Doxinate i.e does it belong to category a, b or c?
Hi,
Thanks for using the HCM. I am happy to address your questions, doxinate is used as a short-term treatment for sleep problems (insomnia), for pregnancy associated nausea and vomiting, and as an anti-histamine. Doxinate tablets contain doxylamine succinate which is a type of antihistamine called an ethanolamine derivative, it may cause drowsiness, vertigo, nervousness, epigastric pain, headache, palpitation, diarrhea, disorientation, irritability, convulsions, urinary retention or insomnia are diarrhea, nausea with or without vomiting, and abdominal pain. Doxinate is a category C drug (if over 2.2 mg per day), the daily allowance during pregnancy really only should be 2.2mg. If it is 2.2 mg per day, it is approved by the RDA as a Category A drug, the safest you can get, but needs to be taken as per your clinicians advise. Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help. Thanks
