Pregnant, Baby's Bpd Measuring Small 2 %. Ultrasound Done. Should I Be Concerned?
I am currently 37 weeks 5 days pregnant. I had an ultrasound at 32 weeks and everything was measuring normal. I then had an ultrasound at 36 weeks and my baby's BPD was measuring small so my doctor ordered me to have another one at 37 weeks just to make sure the baby is still growing. The baby grew and I've had 2 non stress tests done and everything looks good, but the baby's BPD is still measuring on the small side at 2%. Is this something I should be worried about? What could it mean?
IN THE THIRD TRIMESTER ULTRASOUND THE FEMUR LENGTH IS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT MEASUREMENT IN ASSESING THE FETAL MATURITY. HOWEVER ALL THE FETAL PARAMETERS ARE GIVEN A WIDE RANGE OF PLUS OR MINUS 3 WEEKS IN SUCH A LATE ULTRASOUND.
THE ULTRASOUND DONE AT 20 WEEKS CALLED THE ANOMALY SCAN.IF IT IS NORMAL IT RULES OUT MOST OF THE FETAL ANOMALIES.
ANYWAY BE PREPARED FOR A PAEDIATRIC OPINION AFTER THE DELIVERY OF THE BABY.
