Pregnant, Bleeding When Trying To Urinate. What Is The Cause ?
My wife is 7 months pregnant. We just returned from our evening supper. Walked there and back (not a huge distance /maybe 1/2 mile). Upon trying to urinate upon our return, she discovered that there was bleeding on her underwear from before and she had some more blood when trying to urinate. What is the cause of the bleeding?

The bleeding could have different causes, but it is definitely abnormal. It could be from the urine itself, from the cervix, or from the uterus with some placental hemorrhage. You should report the matter to your doctor immediately. She may need hospitalization and further care. Give her absolute bed rest preferably in the left lateral position, avoid any stressful activity and monitor fetal movements. Avoid intercourse. Good luck.
