Pregnant, Having Contractions, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Tingling. Treatment?
i am 21 years old and am 34 weeks pregrant with my second child. I was put on bed rest three weeks ago because I started having contractions and was dialited 1. Yesterday i experienced diahhrea and today i am throwing up. Also, today i have experienced a tingling at the top of my stomach , the baby has dropped really low. What is the tingling all about?
Hello greycounseling,
Your diarrhoea and vomitting may be due to dilatation of the mouth of the uterus. On the other hand it may be due to something you may have eaten and caught an infection. But considering your history and the 'dropping' of the baby its wise to get in touch with your doctor immediately so that you can have an examination to check whether you are going in labour. If so, it would be more prudent to be close to or in the hospital for the sake of the baby which will be premature.
I'm not sure what you refer to as tingling. This being your second child i'm sure you would be able to make out labour pains. If you keep your palm flat on the top of the uterus and if you feel the uterus stiffening with some pain and 'tingling' it means you are having contractions.
Please get in touch with your doctor immediately.
All the best.
