Pregnant, Resting Heart Rate Is ~ 95-100 Bpm. Is This Normal? Is This An Indicator Of Poor Cardiovascular Health?
I am 16 weeks pregnant and my resting heart rate is ~ 95-100 bpm. Is this normal? Is this an indicator of poor cardiovascular health? I do work out a few times a week (2 days weight training and 1-2 days cardio). If the resting heart rate for a pregnant women only increases ~ 10 bpm, this would put me in the very poor fitness category, which surprises me. Thanks!
normal heart rate of a healthy adult is 60-100 /min
pregnancy increase work load on heart - your heart rate is normal
most common cause of tachycardia in pregnancy is anemia - please check your hemoglobin
fatigness is also symptom of pregnancy
remain assure and be happy
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
You are pregnant please do not worry as this is physiological state, and mild tachycardia is normal, but if resting rate is so fast please check with your Gynaecologist and Blood pressure and Haemoglobin level should be checked, if they are normal then other causes like Thyroid function and other test may detect the cause, even simple fever or dehydration or simple anxiety may be responsible for fast heart rate.
Getting a EKG and 2 D Echocardiography are p[possible means of detecting cause if there is any requirement.
Please take care of diet and nutritional supplements as advised by your Doctor like Iron, Calcium and Folic acid.
Please continue to do physical exercise along with deep breathing exercises.
Wish you a safe motherhood.
Please Take care
Good Luck
