Pregnant, Ultrasound Showed Anterior Low Lying Placenta. Is It Serious?

Hi. I m 32 years old. I m 5 foot 2 inches tall and weigh 77kg. I m 12 weeks pregnant. This is my second pregnancy. My 1st pregnancy was normal and I had a normal delivery. I had my first sonograph yesterday. It showed an anterior low-lying placenta (Grade 1). Everything else was normal. What can I expect in the coming days and what should I look out for? Anything I should/should not do? Thanks.

Hello there,
Thanks for writing to us.
At 12 weeks, a low lying placenta, is more likely to migrate to upper segment to its normal position with the growth of the uterus with advancing gestation.
There is a small possibility of this low lying placenta remaining low lying even at term.
Hope I have cleared your queries.
Take care.
