Pregnant, Ultrasound Showed Growth Behind Baby's Ear. Any Ideas?
I am 35wks pregnant & during our ultrasound today they found a 3cm growth behind my.babys ear. I had my last ultrasound at 16wks & everything was normal. Her heart , lungs, brain, kidneys all look great & the growth does not appear to have any blood vessels- just a.lump of skin. Any ideas? I am scheduled for an mri next week
Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.
Given the normal scan at 16 weeks, and normal views of the anatomy otherwise, I would proceed not being too worried. In reviewing what this could possibly be, I am unable to find anything that specifically points to an explanation for this finding. In particular, given that the structures involving the brain and spinal column were likely normal, then whatever this is (if it is real) is probably of low significance. Please let us know if we can help once you have more information!
