Pregnant, White Discharge. Prescribed Metrogel For BV. Examination Shows Polyps. Common?
I am 30 weeks pregnant. I started last weekend with some discharge- at first it was very wet, sometimes white. I was worried I may be leaking fluid. I saw doctor on Tuesday and they looked at cervix- examined sample under microscope- no amniotic fluid, no yeast, lots of inflammatory cells. So they prescribed metrogel for suspected BV. After a couple of doses of BV I noted a fleshy discharge- chunky/clumpy and pink, sometimes flesh colored or white. I saw the doctor again today and she saw the discharge. She also examined my cervix and noted "blisters". She had another doctor look and this doctor said that it was "polypoid" tissue- polyps. This seems strange to me. That I just developed polyps between Tuesday and Friday? Is this type of discharge common with polyps? I am worreid by the word "blisters" and concerned that it could be a herpes infection that they are mis-identifying?

Thank you for choosing Healthcaremagic. No its not herpes, because herpetic lesions wont be seen over the cervix. Your polypoidal growth needs to be evaluated after your delivery. As you are already 30 weeks, I suggest you not to think about it. Just follow your doctors orders. Kindly dont think about rare things.
