Prescribe Replacement For Ecosprin While Having Gastric Issues

Hi Sri, My uncle had SMA angioplasty and stenting. Drs pricribed him to take ecoprin 75mg and clopilet. He is taking these for alomost 2 years. From that time he is feeling chest pain, then we have done angeogram to find cause of the issue, but in that he don t have any problem and report has come as no issue at all. The Dr told us that becuase of ecosprin it he is getting gastric issue in chest. For that replaced ecoprin with Deplatt. But when i went to pharma to by Deplatt, they said both Clopilet and Deplatt are same not ecosprin and Deplatt. Now I am confused ? what is replacement for ecoprin since he has buring and gastric issue?

Hi,
thanks for writing to hcm.
Ecosprin and clopidogrel are the important medications for cardiovascular diseases.
Instead of stopping or changing ecosprin, kindly add a proton pump inhibitor(Pantoprazole) for the gastric problem.
Kindly take Pantoprazole 40mg half an hour before breakfast daily after consulting your doctor.
The problem will definitely decrease.
