Prescribed Lipitor For High Cholesterol. Taking Prilosec For Stomach Problems. Help

I have problems taking medicine. I have been told of my high cholesterol . I was told to take Lipitor which totaling scares me to death due to my friends that took it and had very bad side effects. I don t know what to do. I have stomach problems and have to take Prilocek OTC with my blood pressure medicine. I eat a lot of vegetiables and try to eat healthy. My doctor did not do much to help me. It REALLY upsets me.

Hi,
If blood cholesterol is very high then you have to take Lipitor (Atorvasatin ).
You can take 10 mg atorvasatin daily, with this dose there might be very less side effects, if at all there.
Otherwise go for active exercise like running, jogging, swimming etc daily, regularly for about 30-40 minutes, 5 days in a week.
This will give good control over cholesterol.
Avoid more fat and carbohydrate in diet.
Avoid sedentary life.

It is a question of risks versus benefits and the benefit of the drug far outweighs the risk...
