Prescribed Macrobid For UTI. On Ortho Cyclen For Birth Control. Can Both Medications Be Effective And Taken Together?

I have a urinary tract infection and was prescribed Macrobid. I am taking ortho-cyclen for birth control and am wondering what will happen while taking both at the same time? Since Macrobid is an antibiotic, will it cancel out my birth control? And how soon after I'm done with this antibiotic will my birth control be effective again?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Macrobid 's ingredient is nitrofurantoin is most potent drug for Urinary tract infection.
This is an antibiotics and birth control ( an hormonal drug ) do't interact each other .
Only both may develops nausea , so get 1-2 antacid tablets.
Good luck.
