Prescribed Cymbalta And Increased Dosage With Endep For Spinal Injury. Have Zocor For High BP. Had Become Withdrawn
Hi, My husband was prescribed cymbalta about 18 months ago, he started off on 30mgs and was then increased to 60mgs. He is also on Endep and feldine for his spinal cord injury. After commencing cymbalta his blood pressure went up and he now takes medication for his bloodpressure as well as Zocor. Since being on cymbalter he became withdrawn and moody preferring to spend a lot of time in the bedroom with the door closed. He would sleep for at least 12 hours per day. He works 60 hours per fortnight and I feel as this is his saving grace with out work he would just ly around and not, do you think he should come off cymbalta. be motivated
Loss motivation and withdrawn might be due to -Anhedonia as a symptom of depression - Side effect of duloxetine - Physical causes - Adjustment disorder after injury.
So you should consult psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and management . Doctor, after confirming the cause, may advise you to taper duloxetine or may replace it with other drug like fluoxetine or desvenlafaxine.
Meanwhile, psychotherapy and counselling may be off good help to him. I hope It may help you.
Thanks.
