Presence Of Huge Amount Of Yellow Mucus Along With Diarrhea. Is This Normal?

This morning my son passed wind and a huge amount of clear/yellowish mucous came out in his pants. About 10 minutes later he was on the toilet with diarhhoea. This evening the same thing happened except it went straight into the toilet and had brown through it. Then his stools became a little harder but one was brown and the other was very pale. I took him to GP this morning but he said it was nothing to worry about and just monitor him. BUT this doesn't sound normal to me!!!

Thanks for consulting HCM.
If your child passes stool with mucus a few episodes then its nothing to worry about because it happens frequently with children. So like your GP suggested you should just observe the stools for a few days and see if they return to normal. Do remain vigilant about any blood in stool or any other changes.
Regards.
