Pressure Build Up In Chest, Dizziness. Diagnosed With HOCM. Defibrillator Fitted. Symptoms Continued. Reason?
I've got a heart condition known as HOCM i was suffering a build up of pressure in my chest and then going dizzy like I was going to faint but never did. I got diagnosed with it in 2009 I've had a defibrillator fitted that's stayed there idel. So what is annoying me at the moment is I'm still getting similar symptoms only there that bad I've fainted twice in the last two month and have the feeling and dizziness that I'm going to faint at least five times a day. The first time I fainted I ended up in hospital they kept me in and Did lots of test on me and it came back as unexplained. It's ruining my life as when I feel it coming on no matter were I am I have to go to the floor incase I collapse again. Any ideas.
Dear Sir/ Madam Thanks for writing to HCM. 1. The HOCM is a condition which is first managed by drugs. These include beta-blockers and calcium channel blockers of non-dihydropyridine type. 2. If symptoms persists despite these medicines and you have severe thickening of heart muscles there are two options. These are surgery on heart muscle and instilling alcohol in blood vessels of your heart. It is not clear that beside ICD what kind of treatment you have received. Hope this gives some helps. Feel free to discuss further. Sincerely Sukhvinder
