Pricking Pain In The Upper Rib, Nervousness And Anxiety. Taking Treatment For Gastritis And Acid Reflux. Solution?
I have a pinprick type pain in my left upper ribs and inbetween said ribs. This pain is brief and intermittent. The pain is slightly more noticeable when pressure is applied with my fingers to the mentioned areas. Normally I would not ask about this pain but it is in the location around my heart which causes for some nervousness. However, my heart beat feels strong and stable and the only other symptoms are from nervousness and anxiety. I'm 23 years old and an athlete. I have been undergoing treatment for gastritis and acid reflux for the last month and had teeth extracted 1 week ago.
The pinprick type of pain is probably secondary to musculoskeletal causes like rib strain, intercostal myalgia or minor muscle tear which may occur during a sneeze or hard cough. The anxiety and nervousness have been known to cause such pains,if the pain increases or persists a opinion should be sought from your doctor.Ruling out any heart involvement by a ECG and Tread mill test would be required if the pain persists or increases.
