Problem Passing Stool. Why Does It Get Softer With Abdominal Pain?
Hello. I have a question. I have had some problems. I have handsome problems passing stool in the past. Just recently I used the bathroom, and had a lot of dark reddish/maroon color blood in my stool. For the past week I have had a hard time using the bathroom again... Then my stool gets softer, then diarrhea . I have been getting really bad lower abdomen pain, feeling that I am going to be sick. Dizziness ... It s been horrible.
Hello, ashley,
If you are older than 40 years, the left lower quadrant abdominal pain
accompanied by passage of soft stool (Diarrhea) with blood means
that you might be experiencing an attack of diverticulitis. These are
small pouches or pockets in the large intestine that get inflamed
and cause these symptoms. Usually, there is also fever and chills.
Nausea is part of this as well. If you have had upper abdominal
problems with acidity etc, I would be concerned about a bleeding ulcer.
I f these syptoms progress, I would recommend that you get in touch with
your doctor immediately and seek appropriate care.
Wish you well.
