Psoriasis On Ankle To Knee, Around Leg, Skin Flakes Falling Off From Breast, Abdomen To Pelvic Area

I not only have the psorisis (sp) on my right ankle to almost my knee all the way around the leg, but I also have some of it on the front of my left legg. Huge white skin cells falling off, never ending. Then the last few months, I have had skin flakes falling off my breast, chest, abdoman down into the pelvic area, back, hips, upper legs above the knees. Always, there are small and large flakes in my under clothes and are on the floor in the bathroom and bedroom. I also have begun to have itchy scalp and some dermatist scales underneath the hair near my face by my ears.
What causes this? My bathroom floor looks like snow has fallen. Can this be cured? Does something besides steroid cream help,, like diet? I us lotions to try to stay hydrated. What can I do?

Hi,

I can understand your concern for the psoriasis in yourself. You have not told us your age, sex, marital status so that I would have guided you better.

After reading your query it appears that you have generalized psoriasis. In this situation if you are either unmarried or if married and do not have future plan to conceive or feeding baby then you can take Methotrexate which is the best medication in your condition. It is a anti-metabolite drug and has to be started under strict medical supervision only after performing some blood tests.

You can talk to your dermatologist if methotrexate can be started in yourself to get best benefit.

Other than this you apply plenty of moisturizers on your skin so that the skin remain properly hydrated.

Take care.
