Pulled Out A Tick On Ball Sack But The Head Was Stuck Inside. Applied Triple Antibiotic Ointment. What Should I Do?
I went to the bathroom and as I was going pee there was a tick on my ballsack. I freeked out and pulled the body out and I think the head is stuck in my ballsack. I have put triple antibiotic ointment onto the affected area, which is red and swollen. I am 15 and I told my mom and she told me to try to dig it out. The head is stuck inside, what should I do?
The answer to your question would depend on what type of tick has bitten you and which geographic area you are from. In USA there are certain geographic areas which are known for certain tick born diseases like lymes disease, rocky mountain fever........etc. I would suggest you remove the head of tick with a tweezer and meet your physician as soon as possible with the removed tick preserved in a box so that the physician can have look at the tick and then determine the further course of action. sometimes a course of prophylactic antibiotics is given depending upon what tick has bitten you.
Hope it helps,
