Purple Colored Bruise On Eyelids, No Recent Injury To Eyes. Causes And Treatment?
I woke up today and my father pointed out to me that i had a purplish bruise on my eye lid. when i looked closer, both eyes had the same sized bruise on each eye lid. I have not hit my face on anything recently which could have caused bruising and there is no pain in the area of the bruises. Any idea what these bruises might possibly be from?
Hello, The bruises involving the eye lids is because of collection of blood underneath the eye lids. The commonest cause for bruises is usually trauma. Since you have mentioned that there is no history of injury to the eyes or face, the condition may follow trivial trauma like sleeping with face down against pillow. The condition is self resolving and usually not requires treatment. Hence I advice you to wait for 7-14 days, if the condition worsens please do consult your eye doctor for examination and treatment. Thank you
