Hi,
Thank you for your query.
I would like to seek some clarifications on the question:
1.
Dysentery is continuing since age of 4.5 months? This means the
diarrhoea is there for more than 1.5 months.
2. When was the stool examination done - at 4.5 month age or recently?
3. Is there any other problem as
Azithromycin is usually prescribed for upper
respiratory tract infection and not diarrhoea?
In case diarrhoea is persisting in your infant then the following measures need to be taken:
1. Ensure hygienic condition of feeding. Ensure that the feeding bottles are adequately sterilized.
2. Ensure hydration.
3. If stool examination reveals pus cells then proper antibiotic needs to be given.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
Wishing your child an early recovery.
Regards,
Rajiv K Khandelwal
