Puss In Nails After Removing Nail. Soaked Feet In Epson Water, Applied Ointment. Is Betadin Or Bactroban Recommended?
Hello, I had both big toenails removed a few weeks ago. The doctor told me to soak my feet in epson salt/water daily. Gave me eye medication name neomyc-polym-dexamet eye ointment to put over the removed toenails, then to cover. I followed the doctor orders. Now, I see puss on both nails. Is betadine good for this or can I use bactroban onintment that was previoulsy prescribed.

Hello, Thanks for the query, Puss indicates that there is infection. Only topical application will not help you. Please start some oral antibiotics. Also wash with potassium permanganate solution Let me know if you have any other doubt. you can ask a direct question to me on this forum, following the below link. http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-rahul-kumar/64818 Wishing you a good health.
