Rabies Injection Taken Along With Antibiotics After Bitten By Dog. Any Need To Take Supplementary Injections?
Doctor, my boyfriend was bitten by a dog a month ago. Upon the accident, I took him to the clinic where the wound was disinfected and he was give the rabbies injection. I do not have the name of the injection. The doctor also prescribed antibiotic which he took correctly and finished it. We are wondering, does he need supplementary injections to avoid rabbies? Are there follow up treatments that we should follow. Thank you for your answer.
Hello, thank you for sharing you problem with us. It is good that you visited the doctor immediately where the wound was disinfected this is the first thing that should be done post exposure of the bite. After this there are 4 doses of vaccine -First on the same day -Second on the 3rd day -Third on the 7th day -Fourth on the 14 day I think it will be better that you should visit that doctor and get confirmed with the doses.
