Radiation For Prostrate Done Few Months Back. Severe Pain And Spasms In Urinaton. Any Remedies From Cystitis Due To Radiation?
My husband had radiation for prostate CA which ended in May 2013. In August he started having severe pain when he urinated with spasms. His urinalogist told him it was cystitis due to the radiation; he has all the S/S they have tried different med symptoms continues to be persisant some days better then others. Do you have any thoughts or ideas what we can try to get some relief from this.
Hi and thanks for the query, It is possible that this could be cystitis due to radiation. It is however very important to ensure that other causes of cystitis, especially infections have been excluded. The decision to treat depends on the intensity of the symptoms. In it is so bothersome, sclerosing therapy could be used. In cases of fistulae, surgery could be applied. This depends on a proper clinical review by his urologist. Kind regards
