my daughter keeps getting random bruising for the last few years. She recently got a really large one on her thighs. She was sure she did not hit her self and it does not hurt. Sometimes she would go to bed and wake up with a bruise in a place she could not hit herself like the middle of her back. The last one on her leg really concerns me. It has been there for about 3 weeks fading slowly. Should I be concerned?
Hi I am Dr Manoj....
The bruise of any kind may happen bcoz of accumulation of blood in the skin....there are variously causes for spontaneous bruising....it may be due to decreased platelets, trivial trauma to blood vessels or increased fragility of Lois vessels...sometimes defect in the coagulating factors and blood thinners may also lead to bruise...I recommend that u take these things seriously and get your daughter examined and investigated as early as possible....by a physician...there are certain complications which are serious so better get her treated and rest assured....don't worry
