I am a 22 year old female, with on and of pain in the chest area. The first attack was about 3 weeks ago where I was awakened by pain radiating from below my left breastbone, into breast up towards collarbone and across to right collarbone. It went away within a few mins after drinking water and was able to return to sleep. One week later a pain below my left breastbone and upwards to my left shoulder returned on and off. Its a mild pain. More discomfort than anything. Its happened everyday. A few days later. The pain remained localized to the left side and travels still to my right collarbone. I went to my doctor yesterday and see noted an rapid heartbeat but attributed my pain to a muscular issue and told me to take 3 days of Aleve. The left side pain has diminished slightly but today the pain has become more in the middle of my chest, above my breast but below my neck. There's an uncomfortable feeling in my lower throat and pain radiating along my upper chest and my right collarbone. With the pressure in the middle of my chest its like an indigestion feeling directly in the middle. Is this reminiscent of an heart issue? A muscle issue like my doctor assumed. Should I go to the ER? I didn't want to worry since it comes and goes but the pressure isn't being relieved almost an hour later and taking my second aleve. It still hurts even when laying down. I'm getting concerned the longer this persists and spreads.
