Rash On Scrotum And Thigh. Used Balmex. Due To Chafing?

My son has had a rash on his scrotum and upper thigh for 3 days now. We thought it was a diaper rash, but balmex is not helping. It seems to get a little better and than gets worse. He has been wearing a different type of diaper the last few days and so I thought that might be it, but after switching back to his normal pampers for a day and a half a now, it seems to be the same. Could it just be chafing since the weather is warmer and humid? I am also thinking a yeast infection. The diaper rash cream seems to be hurting him or it could be just me touching the rash that is bothering him.

It could be due to heat and chafing but you should consider a yeast infection and the Balmex will not help that condition and actually might sting. Pick up clotrimazole cream (Lotrimin AF) at a pharmacy and apply that twice daily and that should clear it quickly.
