Reason For Blood Tinged Mucus From Child S Ear?
I am a preschool teacher. I have a child that has sever slightly blood tinged mucus/puss drainage from his ear. His parents say it is fine and he has no pain etc. I have never seen anything so severe. I have four children of my own and have been a teacher for over twenty years. It just does not seem normal or acceptable to me. any advice or thoughts. thanks

I appreciate your efforts as a teacher And picking up something like this. Most teachers miss out on these. You are right, its not normal in this age children and this is suggestive of bad ear infection. This child needs urgent consult with a pediatrician Or an ent expert to examine his ear inside and will need to start on antibiotics to control the infection.
