hi I hv a problem of pigmentation from last 4 yrs. now I m using melas cream from last 2 days but after using cream when next morning I washed my face with face wash it started itching, peeling of skin and light redness on my face. please suggest wht should I do....... should I discontinue the creame
I can understand your concern and after reading the query it appears that you are suffering from steroid abuse and dependence as you are using the cream from past 4 years.
Melas contains hydroquinone, steroid and tretinoin. The cream shouldn't be used without a dermatologist's prescription. On its prolonged use it can cause thinning skin with red irritated skin or even hair growth.
I suggest you to use proper sun protection. You can use Azelaic acid or Kojic acid creams later on under dermatological guidance only. These can be used for a long period without any side effects.
You should immediately meet a dermatologist at the earliest for proper treatment. Take care
