Reason For Painless Swelling Under Jaw After Eating?
My husband got a swelling (golf ball size) under his left jaw after eating late Monday. he thought it might be a food allergy. However, no matter what he eats it has come back. Since this AM after having coffee it is under his full jaw & looks like he has a goiter. he is not in pain.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for writing to us. This sounds like salivary gland blockage indeed. It can be caused by stone in the gland ducts which obstructs it. Massage can help in some cases especially if the stone is visible under the tongue. However obstructed salivary gland can lead to an inflammation or even an abscess. That is why it is good to consult laryngologist, have glands ultrasound and in case of stone, incision might be necessary. Hope this helps you.
