Reason For Water Turning Reddish Brown When Passing Urine After Taking Mezavent Which Contains Red Ferric Oxide For Colitis?
I am taking he medication Mezavent for colitis.This medication contains red ferric oxide. Would this coloring agent have a recation with the clorine in the water in your toilet? Sometimes after I pass urine the water will turn reddish brown in the toilet.

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have been taking medication (Mezavent) for Colitis and have noticed that the colour of the toilet water changes to reddish brown after passing urine ,
Do not worry this is due to reaction of chlorine in water and chemical agent in medication and will not harm you by any means.
