Recommend Supplements That Reduce Cholesterol Levels
I have high cholesterol(247 total number) weight 130 lbs and 5'6". Im taking 1000mg of fish oil at bedtime. Is it ok to take fish oil at bedtime? Any other supplements that are good at lowering cholesterol? Im am on a strict low saturated fat diet as well
Optimal cholesterol: 180 lipid profile? Doubt if you can normalize lipids with diet exercise alone. Would help if I knew profile. Depending on profile, nicotinic acid may be helpful but liver enzymes need monitoring, follow the Total Lifestyle Change (TLC) diet (on web); exercise is very important to lower LDL increase HDL; need to increase water soluble fiber (lots of oats - oatmeal, cheerios, take psyllium fiber every day). Supplements: Fish Oil; Red Rice Yeast (acts like a statin need to monitor liver enzymes); Ground flaxseed, and use garlic liberally as a spice. For more specific advice see your doctor for a lipid profile, need blood pressure readings, exercise clearance. You asked about fish oil at night? I would take it during the day but I do not think it really matters as long as you dont get fishy burps. Heres to health!
