Recommend Treatment Options For Wax Build Up In The Ear
I am losing my hearing. I have always had to deal with wax build up. I have been using softening agent for ear wax for weeks now, and flushing with warm water, but to no avail. Finally, I had my wife look in my ear, she sees lots of white stuff. I have a doctor s apt next Friday for full physical. I am 60 year old white male, with no medical issues, on no medicine. How can I battle this between now and my physical in one week?
As per your query you have symptoms of wax build up in the ear which is due to pus discharge which seems to be due to ear infection and accumulation of thick fluid behind ear drum and it causes reduced hearing. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and an otoscopic examination can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like gentamicine at least for 10 day and sometimes place tubes in ear to release the pressure and drainage .For infection in ear antibiotics oral as well as ear drops, painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestant nasal sprays and pus drainage from the ear can help in faster clearing of infection.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
