Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. As you were taking potassium for dehydration , that a good thing. Now your main question is how to get rid of Urinary Tract Infection ( U T I ), in spite of this that you were taking Nitrofurantoin ( macrobid ) a most potent drug for UTI . But the main problem is the type of bacteria which are responsible for U T I . In my opinion please get in urine culture for bacteria as well as drug sensitivity test and there after take most sensitive drug as advised your consultant . Within a stipulated period you will be alright. Good luck. Dr. HET
