Recurring Pain In Left Testicle And Pain In Tubes And Veins Above Testicle. Doing Workouts. What Could This Be?

I am having pain in my left testicle. The pain comes and goes. It appears to be normal in size and my testicle doesn t hurt to the touch. I m active and push myself hard at the gym. I may have pushed an ab workout too hard and strained a muscle, but I don t necessarily feel any pain in my abdominal area. While checking my testicle I did feel some pain in the tubes and veins above it. The pain eases when I lay down. What could this be?

Hi,
These could be the symptoms of a varicocele which is enlarged veins around the testicle. Commonly, the discomfort is worse when standing than lying.
It is not a serious problem and can usually be helped by paracetamol and ibuprofen for the pain. Wear supportive underwear. If these measures do not help than surgery may be necessary.
