Recurring Typhoid Fever. Taking Mahacef Plus. Is This Right Medication?
Hi, I was suffering with typhoid fever about a month back. I had 1:400 dilution and after 10 days of antibiotic medication my fever went away and my typhoid dilution came down to 1:160. My doctor advised me to not take any further medication since I had no fever. After 2 weeks, I developed fever again and I consulted a new doctor. He had asked me to take Mahacef Plus. Am I on the right medication? Please advise.
hello sir/madam since your widal titres are still high, it is advisable to take medications. you should go for a typhoid IgM and IgG test and if this also comes positive, you must go for higher antibiotics, preferably a cephalosporin and floroquinolone combination. wish you good health regards Dr. Gurpreet
