Red & Painful Legs From Sunburn. Advised To Keep Them Elevated And To Apply Aloevera. Other Treatments?

Hi

I got sunburnt on the weekend (saturday) and my legs are the most affected area.. I can see the red-ness is slowly reducing however without having my legs up they become very tight, purple and painful (especially to walk on).

I need to be at work (cant take time off) and have an important event on this weekend (3 days away)...

I rung my local doctor and they said to just keep them elevated and apply aloe vera... I am trying to do this but it is difficult to do at work.

Is there something I can take to help with the swelling??

Thanks

hi. Acute sunburn can be very discomforting. What you can do is that you can discuss with your doctor that whether he can put you on a short course of oral steroids? Topical you can apply a steroid like tenovate for fast relief. Use appropriate pain-killers like aspirin/ibuprofen. OF COURSE USE A BROAD SPECTRUM SUNSCREEN TOO!!
