Hi, My baby is 7 weeks old and she has these red pimple like bumps all over her head and face. at first there was just a few on the side but everyday there seem to be more and it is getting worse. I asked her doctor and he said it was nothing, but i would still like to know what it is and what causes it. Is there a point where i need to buy ointment or anything to make it stop?
these rashs may be due to overprotection from cold, by excessive use of oil or cream, by soap, by clothings or neonatal acne.
give drop atarex (hydroxygine) 10 drops 2 times daily for 3 days. by this rash subside.
use very mild soap which pH is around 5.5 u may be use tedibar soap or dove, not use any type of antiseptic soap.
use adequate moisturiser not less or not in excess. use only cotton cloths.
be vigilant by which things these rash are increase or decrease.
In all probability your child would be getting something called as neonatal acne, where a new born develops some pimples because of maternal hormonal influence. Its most often a transient phenomenon, nothing much need to be done about it. U can apply an antibiotic cream like T-bact cream. If it doesnt subside in few weeks then do consult a dermatologist

your baby must have developed something called as miliaria which is just skin reaction to heat and is absolutely unharmful.
best thing to do s to leave it alone.
please do not apply any antibiotic cream. normal application of baby oil as usual is good enough.
it will subside by itself
