Reddish Rashes On The Penis. Flaky Skin. Will Circumcision Help With The Skin Problems?
Dear Doc, have a long problem now with my penis skin. I am 40 years old and past 5-6 months have Red rashes on the glans area, white deposits - needing me to clean frequently, the reddish spots are sensitive when after sex with my partner. A flaky kind of appearence on the penis skin, i am un-circumcised can it be that the repeated skin issues shall solve with a circumcision ? I also have tried cleaning with Betadine solution. Is helps but for some days. Is it a good practice ? At times due to hard erections and sex the glans area starts mild bleading and also there is burning sensation. Pl help.
Are the rashes on the tip of the penis at the preputial skin? If yes i would suggest a circumcision to remove the lesions at the same time being able to send the skin for histopathology. Betadine will only help if it has active infection but if not i suggest just cleaning it daily with a mild soap and water. Betadine may also contribute to the irritation thereby making the problem worse.
Hope this helps.
