Redness In White Portion Of Eyes. Taking Steroids, Temporary Relief. MT Test Positive, Chest X-rays Normal. Treatment For Eye Redness?

My daugter 11 year old is having redness in white portion of from last six months. Her MT test is positve 30mm Chest X-rays are clear Blood profile SGPT/ SGOT ok TLC ,DLC ok ESR 20 urine culture -ve We frequently visited eye specialist but the treatment failed Once doctor prescribed steroid for 6 days. Redness disaapeared and re surfaced after 2 months. What should be the next course of treatment?

A 30 mm mantous is of high significance. I think u need to consult a physician specialising in infectious diseases to find out the cause of the same.

There are three things that can cause significant redness in this situation.

1. Something called phylectenular conjunctitis - this is a kind of allergic response of the body to the TB infection and needs steroids.

2. tuberculoma in the conjunctiva - comparatively rare entity

3. allergic conjunctivitis not related to the tb process itself.

along with the first two entities, a course of anti tb therapy tailored to the source is necessary.
