Regular Smoker. Test To Assess Situation Inside Body

Hello doc My husband is a regular smoker.he is 29yrs n is smoking from past 10yrs he smokes 5-6cig per day. I want him to know how it is hampering his health. If u could suggest me some medical test through which he can understand what is the exact situation inside his body. As we'll as some healthy ways to quit smoking.

Quitting smoking requires a highly motivated mind. You can find literatures which describe the harmful effects of smoking in detail.

I'd say the smoker will eventually develop one or more of the following conditions in future.
- Carcinoma of Lung
- Coronary Artery Disease
- Peripheral Vascular Disease

A pulmonary function test can test his lung volumes which could be reduced in a smoker.

A Doppler study of peripheral arteries can detect any blocks or reduction in flows which may be developing.

A chest x ray can detect presence of COPD or Any masses.
