Sandy, Gritty Feeling In Mouth, Yellow Sores On Bottom Of Tongue. What Could This Be?

For the last couple of days I have had a sandy, gritty feeling in my mouth. I have brushed my teeth, used mouth wash, gurggled with salt water and it is still gritty feeling. I also have 2 small size yellow sores on the bottom of my thongue. My throat is starting to hurt bad as well. I have no white substance in my mouth at all. I can brush and gurrgle and it feels gone but then it starts back up again. What is it? I have never had this happen.
