Scar On Ankle Itching After Few Screws And Plate Removed With Little Pimples And Scab

I had a few screws and plate removed from my ankle over 3 month ago, after 1 month the scar started itching, I though that was normal healing process, however the itching started to worse and worse, now my whole body is itching and the scar became reddish with little pimples and scab.

Hello,
thank you for writing to HCM

I would advice you to bath with antiseptic soap. clean the scar area and pat dry. apply neosporin cream over scab area. Take T.fexofenadine once daily for 10 days.

If itching persists take the following tests -serum IgE and complete blood count , and consult a dermatologist/your surgeon in person for confirmatory diagnosis and treatment.

regards
