hello. i am being scheduled for a DHE, and i've had them in the past...i hate them. my muscles get tight and jerk, and i feel like i want to rip out the iv, jump off the table and run. i'm sure this is a med reaction. what could cause this? the anti nausea med? is there something to counter this so i can relax?? it really makes everything worse. it has never worked for aborting a headache.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The tightness and jerking of the muscles that you are feeling is likely to be due to anxiety and muscle spasms. This can be relieved by taking oral muscle relaxants and anti anxiety medications after consulting your physician.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
