Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Painful area in nail bed with exacerbation due to minor touch, trauma or temperature change may point towards a benign tumor known as glomus tumor.
A magnetic resonance imaging of your proximal nail food or cuticle may help in investigating the same. Treatment is in the form of surgical excision.
Hope that helped.
Take care
