Sensitive Eyes After Sleeping With Contact Lenses On, Watering, Cannot Keep Eyes Open, Redness
I accidently fell asleep with my contacts on about a week ago. My eyes were super red but it went away after a few days. About 2. But now my eyes are really sensitive and I can t go outside or watch TV without my eyes getting watery and i can barely keep them open. They still tend to get red throughout the day and eye drops are not working. Should I be alarmed? What can I do?
Hello, Sleeping with contact lenses should not be done as it is known to cause corneal dmages like corneal abrasion, corneal ulcer... The symptoms you are having like redness, watering, sensitive eyes all are indicating corneal problem. You are supposed to use antibiotic eye drops and lubricating eye drops. I advice you to contact your eye surgeon at the earliest as your symptoms are pointing towards corneal damage following use of contact lenses overnight. Thank you
