This could be due to allergic rhinitis ( allergy affecting nose and upper respiratory tract. ). Fedac is being used which is a decongestive drug consists of triprolidine and pseudoephedrine. This drug relieves the symptoms but its effects are temporary and short acting. The major side effects include drowsiness, sedation due to its anti histaminic drug (Triprolidine ) and dry nose, mouth and rarely atrophic rhinitis due to Psedoephedrine. Long-term continuous usage is not recommended. For persistent symptoms others drugs like corticosteriods are available to achieve adequate control of symptoms. It is advisable on consult a ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat speciaist) or Allergy specialist for comprehensive management.
